Personal Reflections Free Essays

Jeremiah took in an exercise that is its profound comprehension of the restrictions of people that we can't carry on with a better than average and fulfilling existence without consistent direction of Almighty God. Through the book of Jeremiah, who originally instructed me is, the manner by which workers of God are called to serve Him and how the Almighty decided to serve his hireling from the belly itself. â€Å"Now the expression of the Lord came to me saying, ‘Before I framed you in the belly I knew you, and before you were conceived I sanctified you; I selected you a prophet to the countries. We will compose a custom paper test on Individual Reflections or on the other hand any comparative point just for you Request Now † (Jeremiah 1: 5). Jeremiah the Prophet was charged from the belly of his mom for his consecrated obligation. There are a few things here that is delightful and awesome, when we consider what it says about the information on God. God disclosed to Jeremiah that he â€Å"knew† before he was made in the belly. He definitely knows the qualities and shortcomings of Jeremiah. He realized that Jeremiah would be what God needs to use during specific times of the historical backdrop of Israel. Each hireling of God had their own authorized to serve Him in different office. Solid Relationship with GodJeremiah has a drawn out relationship with God. After some time, he figured out how to move and trust him with positive outcomes from numerous tests that occurred in the workplace. The equitable prophets, who come clean about the national condition, are not human. Jeremiah has some genuine companions. Be that as it may, God is the first in the life of this prophet. He knows and obeys God as Creator. Jeremiah was picked to record perhaps the most profound piece of the Bible by God. â€Å"Thus says the Lord:† Give to the insightful not to commend his astuteness, not to give a solid wonder to man in his influence, nor to leave the greatness of wealth and wealth? In any case, he who praises this wonder, who comprehends and knows me, what god's identity is, has intercourse, judgment, and equity on earth. (Jeremiah 9: 23-24). Jeremiah the Rescuer Despite the various conditions, the prophet Jeremiah lived in a time of national tumult when it resembled the current atmosphere of vulnerability and tension. The confidence, as indicated by Jeremiah, is upheld and bolstered by God’s individual promise to him. Jeremiah says â€Å"Then the Lord restored his hand and contacted my mouth, and the Lord stated, â€Å"Behold, I have spoken for you. Today, I have made every one of these countries and over the realm, crush and eradicate, assemble and (9-10)†. We can see the substance of the book itself, which Jeremiah forecasted during the time of abrupt decrease and at last the catch of the nation of Judah. This is an unmistakable voice in the outflow of God’s matter for his kin. Through the span of around 40 years, Jeremiah forecasted during the rule of the five unique lords of Judah by the commendable Josiah. Guide issue with it, let Jeremiah took in a couple of exercises about the idea of God and the exceptionally human condition that people of the this century must comprehend and recognize the commission of natural to them and to spare countries or people.Relying on God alone. Most of the time we neglected to depending on God when the hour of oppressions. In any case, in this book show us, regardless of the serious abuse of his kin, Jeremiah realized that the Supreme Lord was the outright control of these occasions. Numerous comrades don't, and some of them keep on debilitating their message, legitimately from the Creator. Be that as it may, God had stated: â€Å"I am watching to see that my assertion is fulfilled† (Jeremiah 1:12, NIV).Our Creator has an away from and reason for the salvation of humanity. A few things in this world bode well just on the off chance that we acknowledge this reality. For all Judah, who were going to the day of Jeremiah, God guaranteed them that he would favor them when they were caught in Babylon. â€Å"For I know the contemplations that I think toward you, says the LORD, musings of harmony and not of shrewdness, to give you a future and an expectation. At that point you will call upon Me and proceed to appeal to Me, and I will tune in to you† (Jeremiah 29:11-12).Great commisionGod doesn't care to rebuff Judah for national and individual sin. He sent prophets to caution them ahead of time, however the country has disregarded. â€Å"In vain I have berated your youngsters; they got no correction† (Jeremiah 2:30). In this way, national bondage turned into a need. What are the lessons of our present reality? What we can realize by this? Of cause it’s become the impression of today’s world. Prior to the fiasco of Judah, Jeremiah communicated contrition by the individuals for the individuals of his. â€Å"Amend your ways and your doings, and I will make you stay in this place† (Jeremiah 7:3). God calls individuals to change and individual Judah countries (sections 4-7), yet it didn't occur. We can get it that numerous advantages from the direction of His steady paying little mind to how terrible the nation was left. â€Å"O Lord, right me, yet with equity; do with your resentment, in case thou not think don't matter† (Jeremiah 10:24). Can supplicate a similar petition today for our nation Malaysia? Indeed we can on the grounds that God the Almighty is a similar yesterday-today-and tomorrow. Unquestionably he will tune in to our supplication. Acknowledge the Rebuke.Jeremiah was human and had failings, however at any rate he genuinely conceded them to God. Rather than devoutly concealing his actual inclination, he spill his guts to the Lord and the Lord answer him. He asks God, that he asks why the agony and forlornness appear to be ceaseless! He ponders whether God will bomb him. Will God resemble a questionable and occasional stream? God’s answer may stun the prophet, for the Lord disclosed to him he expected to apologize, on the off chance that he atone God will reestablish him that he may serve the Lord, if Jeremiah express commendable, not useless, word, with the goal that he might be the representative. The Lord consistently offset censure with affirmation. He guaranteed by and by to make Jeremiah a braced divider and give him triumph over all foes. Jeremiah needed to figure out how to stroll by confidence, which implied obeying God’s word regardless of how he felt, what he saw, or what individuals may do to him. God never guaranteed Jeremiah a simple activity, yet He promised Jeremiah all that he have to accomplish His work loyally. God reminds Jeremiah that the enduring he has encountered is actually similar to what God had let him know. Jeremiah at that point, isn't to disintegrate notwithstanding difficulty but instead increase his pledge to his prophetic employment. Abuse has not wrecked God’s guarantee to convey and vindicate (stanza 20), and God reminds Jeremiah that his steadiness is the very vehicle by which the individuals are prevailed upon to atonement (refrain 19). End Is it unfathomable for God’s picked hirelings to be frail and mischief their own services? No. Since each worker of God is a person and is dependent upon the shortcoming of human instinct. Model; Moses got disheartened and needed to bite the dust (No. 11: 10-15); Joshua was happy to stop and leave the place where there is guarantee (Jos 7: 6-11), Elijah even left his place of obligation and would have liked to pass on (1 Kings 19) and Jonah was irate and he wouldn't help the individual he acted the hero (Jonah 4). God doesn't need us to disregard our emotions, since it will make us not exactly individuals, yet He needs us to confide in Him to change our sentiments and to stroll with confidence in Him.The book of Jeremiah instructs that trustworthiness and steadfastness amidst enduring are indications of prophetic assistance and an exercise that is its profound comprehension of the constraints of people that we can't carry on with a better than average and fulfilling existence without consistent direction of Almighty God. The declaration of the prophet to his underlying call was a manner by which God would complete his redemptive work on the planet and reaffirm the guarantees of freedom. Literary Terms Modern Essay Essay

The point of this glossary isn't to set in solid words that are continually changing and advancing, but instead to assist understudies with building up the basic apparatuses and jargon with which to comprehend and discuss verse. Since artists themselves regularly differ about the significance and significance of terms, for example, free section, beat, verse, structure, and the writing sonnet, and since control of abstract talk is a piece of each new generation’s battle for graceful domination, it appears to be just sensible and suitable for the understudy to see all endeavors to characterize basic wording in a chronicled point of view and with a solid level of suspicion. This small scale glossary mirrors the proceeding with banter between conventional measurements and free stanza, and between contrasting originations of the poet’s art and job in the public arena. A more full and all the more enthusiastic discussion may frequently be found in the notes on the writers and in the poetics segment. In various examples, I have been less worried to offer hard-andfast definitions than to make perusers aware of the contention that encompasses certain basic terms. The accompanying rundown is in no way, shape or form total, however is expected to help and incite, to invigorate conversation and discuss and send the inquisitive peruser on to progressively complete sources. I have utilized and suggest exceptionally A Glossary of Literary Terms (1957), by M. H. Abrams; the Princeton Encyclopedia of Poetry and Poetics (1974), altered by Alex Preminger, Frank, J. Warnke, and O. B. Hardison, Jr; and The Poet’s Dictionary: A Handbook of Prosody and Poetic Devices (1989), by William Packard. G. G. ccent The accentuation, or stress, put on a syllable, reflecting pitch, length, and the weights of punctuation and language structure. While all syllables are complemented or worried in discourse and in verse, we will in general portray the less prevailing as unstressed or unaccented syllables. In metrical refrain, emphasized and unaccented (focused and unstressed) syllables are effortlessly recognized. Robert Burns’s celebrated line â€Å"My lo ve resembles a red, red rose† may be depicted as a versifying tetrameter line, with four feet each comprising of one unaccented syllable followed by an emphasized one. Nonetheless, it tends to be contended that such a perusing trivializes and successfully undermines the enthusiastic intensity of the graceful articulation, and that the feeling of the line directs a marginally unique perusing, which finds three in number burdens or accents in the second 50% of the line: â€Å"My love resembles a red, red rose†. See likewise FEET and METER. 2 20 - Century Poetry and Poetics th alexandrine A twelve-syllable line, as a rule comprising of six rhyming feet. similar sounding word usage A typical beautiful gadget that includes the redundancy of a similar sound or sounds in words or lines in closeness. Similar sounding word usage was generally articulated in Anglo-Saxon sonnets, for example, â€Å"The Wanderer† and â€Å"The Seafarer†, which Earle Birney mirrors in his parody of Toronto, â€Å"Anglo-Saxon Street†: Dawndrizzle finished clamminess steams from Blotching block and clear plasterwaste Faded house designs ancient and finicky unfurl stammering stick like a phonograph While such exceptional accumulating of consonants was at one time a typical mental helper (a guide to memory), changing scholarly forms have, to a huge degree, rendered such unsure displays excessively gruff and evident for the contemporary ear, with the exception of when utilized for comic purposes. Special cases incorporate rap verse and expressed word, the two of which utilize similar sounding word usage and rhyme. In any case, the redundancy, or rhyming, of vowels, consonants, and consonant bunches (nt, th, st, etcetera) stays a still a focal part in developing the soundscape of the sonnet, similarly as the reiteration and variety of picture and thought advance the scholarly and tactile texture. The most skilled specialists will listen in reverse and advances as they make, getting and rehashing the two pictures and sounds that give the sonnet a rich and interlocking surface. See ASSONANCE, CONSONANCE, RHYME, and PROSODY. mention Personal, topical, verifiable, or scholarly references are basic in verse, however, to be fruitful, they require a group of people with shared understanding and qualities. Scriptural or old style implications, for instance, or Canadian political references, may be absolutely unrecognizable to an Asian Muslim peruser. Despite the fact that perusers before long feel burnt out on verbal exhibitionism, they despite everything anticipate that a level of suggestion should challenge them and to animate interest. Lawrence Ferlinghetti’s â€Å"Junkman’s Obgligato† accept the reader’s nature with both T. S. Eliot’s â€Å"Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock† and W. B. Yeats’s â€Å"Lake Isle of Innisfree† for a full energy about the amusing counterpointing of out for the count urban pictures and those of a romanticized peaceful scene. Simultaneously, the sonnet additionally floods with topical and abstract suggestions from the junkyard of nineteenth-and twentieth-century European and American culture. equivocalness Words and the writings they occupy are helpless of an assortment of interpetations. While a word may indicate a certain something, utilization and setting regularly apply different undertones as a powerful influence for the significance, or implications, of that word in the sonnet. As the American writer Randall Jarrell clarifies in his exposition â€Å"The Obscurity of the Poet† (in Poetry and the Age, 1953), what we talk about as writing ranges from Dante’s Divine Comedy, with its seven degrees of importance, to Reader’s Digest, which, Glossary of Poetic Terms 3 like mash fiction and welcome card refrain, scarcely oversees a large portion of a degree of significance. Complex perusers appreciate, yet additionally request a specific degree of equivocalness, or secret, in sonnets. They find such vagueness in Shakespeare, who cherished jokes, pun, and different sorts of pleasantry; they discover it likewise in such early Moderns as T. S. Eliot, W. B. Yeats, Ezra Pound, and Wallace Stevens, who were impacted by seventeenth-century Metaphysical artists and French Symbolist writers, for both of whom the sonnet holds something of the nature of an enigma. Because of declining crowds, a general pattern towards a democratization of expressions of the human experience, and the weight of new sorts of mental and political substance, the pendulum of taste since mid-century swung towards less equivocalness. While jokes worldplay still add to our feeling of the fertility and profundity of lovely articulation, contemporary artists concede that a rose may, on occasion, be proposed distinctly as a rose; and they will in general stay away from the utilization of dark and obscure references. See Robert Graves’ Poetic Unreason (1925) and William Empson’s Seven Types of Ambiguity (1930). anapest A metrical foot comprising of two unaccented syllables followed by a highlighted one:/? ? ? /. See Meter. anaphora The explanatory gadget of utilizing a similar word or expression toward the start of progressive lines to acquire the impact of mantra. See Ginsberg’s â€Å"Howl† and Cohen’s â€Å"You Have the Lovers† and â€Å"style†. punctuation A scholarly gadget of â€Å"turning away†, for the most part to address a well known individual or thought. In the old style Greek plays of Aeschylus and Euripides, the theme would walk over the phase one way reciting different verses, or strophes, and afterward switch their movement in an enemy of strophe, or verbal turn around. In twentiethcentury verse, the punctuation is similarly prone to be utilized amusingly, or for sentimental or mocking purposes. rchetype When you sense that an abstract character, circumstance, or thought has hugeness a long ways past its particular, or specific, event in the sonnet, you are most likely within the sight of a paradigm. In an exposition called â€Å"Blake’s Treatment of the Archetype† (English Institute Essays, 1950), Northrop Frye says: â€Å"By model I mean a component in a work of writing, regardless of whether a character, a picture, a story equation, or a thought, which can be absorbed into a bigger bringing together example. † Psychologist C. G. Jung, in a paper called â€Å"The Problem of Types in Poetry† (1923), gives another measurement to the issue: â€Å"The early stage picture or original is a figure, regardless of whether it be a daemon, man, or procedure, that rehashes itself over the span of history any place innovative dream is openly showed. Basically, along these lines, it is a legendary figure. On the off chance that we subject these pictures to a closer assessment, we find them to be the planned resultants of innumerable run of the mill encounters of our precursors. They are, so to speak, the clairvoyant buildup of countless encounters of a similar kind. 4 20 - Century Poetry and Poetics th Sibling competition, the deceived or dismissed darling, the honest abroad, the radical, the imbecile, the regular patterns of resurrection, richness, and demise, the conjurer or enchantressâ€all are normal characters or circumstances in writing that can extend our valuation for a masterpiece. In any case, the ques t for all inclusive images can be reductive in the perusing of a sonnet; thus, as well, can inordinate endeavors to make a work representative or original lessen a sonnet into a human science content or a paper on brain research. ssonance Also called vocalic rhyme, sound similarity is the reiteration or repeat of vowel sounds inside a line (or lines), a verse, or the general sonnet. Tune in to the long vowels invoke termination and demise in Wilfred Owen’s â€Å"Greater Love†: â€Å"As theirs whom none currently hear,/Now earth has halted their pathetic mouths that hacked. † Assonance is generally evident among words starting with an open, or introductory, vowel (open/eyes/eat/pre-winter), yet similarly incredible as an inner rhyming gadget (tears/mean, thine/divine). allad A mainstream short story society melody, typically transmitted orally, and utilizing different types of shorthand, including shortened activity, mental and verifiable crudeness, and an ensemb le or re

Nature of the Insurance Business

Question: Talk about the Report for Nature of the Insurance Business. Answer: 1. The idea of the protection business is to such an extent that it has gigantic hazard as the conceivably liabilities in specific divisions, for example, avionics would be in millions. These dangers might be operational, credit, endorsing or advertise related. Henceforth, to exceed expectations in such a business adherence to the prudential standards alongside successful hazard the board structure is basic. In any case, HIH dissimilar to other insurance agencies through its broken arrangements and improper obtaining systems improved the general business chance. It didn't have observe the business standards and guidelines with respect to prudential standards and any fiasco might make the organization bankrupt as the capacity to settle colossal cases was restricted. Rather, the organization depended on reinsurance which is a nearly extremely high hazard arrangement. In any case, in spite of the flawed plan of action, the organization wandered into giving protection to high hazard parts, for example, marine which was profoundly unadvisable. Likewise, the different venture plans offered to clients had bleak returns which upgraded the general business dangers. In total, the center issue of the organization was its careless interior working which didn't include a lot of arranging and reasonable hazard the executives along these lines bringing about high business chance for the business (Arens et. al., 2013). The variables to be considered are featured beneath. Non-adherence to the business guideline standards for hazard the board and rather including reinsurance at the core of the hazard the board implied that the business chance was expanded by manifolds and the organization was antagonistically affected (Gay Simnett, 2012). Absence of due ingenuity while gaining FAI Insurance combined with constrained executive gatherings for conversation of the proposition. The organization wound up paying a premium for the obtaining which was not legitimized and the prompted colossal money related weight which expanded the fundamental intrinsic hazard (Arens et. al., 2013). Renumeration relationship with the outer examiner through the utilization of counseling contracts implied that the inspector autonomy was seriously undermined and consequently the different breaches concerning the organization and its business approaches were not featured. This prompted higher inborn hazard as the proprietors could maintain the business according to their impulses in conspiracy with inspector (Livne, 2015). Arrangement of ex-reviewers to the Board of Directors prompted the undermined dynamic which would not be to the greatest advantage of the organization and in this way permit the incautious approaches to proceed and consequently cause expanded inborn hazard (Livne, 2015). 2.1) The applicable case that the inspectors can refer to for protection against the customers is the Equitable Life Assurance Society v Hyman [2000] case. According to the applicable actuality of this case, the customers were given the decision of going for either advertise pace of return or fixed pace of return when the protection arrangement was given. Each time the market rate was lower than the fixed rate guaranteed, the executives expressing the target of keeping up equality between the profits of the two policyholders diminished the terminal rewards of the policyholders that had selected fixed returns. Since the fixed returns clients were at a misfortune, subsequently the issue was hauled in the court where the accomplices of the association were held liable of utilizing their prudence in dishonesty and they were made subject for the misfortunes brought about by the policyholders (Swarb, 2015). 2) The valuable case that the examiners can refer to for guard against the loan bosses is the Raskov versus Stapke Harris [2010] case. This case took into consideration legitimate assurance under the particular conditions when the association really expected a predefined position and the equivalent might be sent by the insight of the evaluator for this situation to avert any risk emerging from the lenders due (Notforlaw, nd). Any circumstance including carelessness needs that the accompanying three conditions are to be complied. The respondent must have an obligation to mind concerning the offended party. To determine this, the respondent must find out whether his/her choice to participate in a specific activity or to cease from the equivalent would have any effect on the offended party or not. In the event that, the offended party could be affected by the choice, at that point the litigant needs to guarantee that sensible consideration be reached out to the offended party with the goal that he/she should not be shield against predictable harms emerging from the decisions of the respondent (Donoghue v. Stevenson [1932] AC 562 at 580) (Lindgren, 2011). When the obligation to mind is built up, it should be learned that the respondent has for sure penetrated the obligation to mind. In such manner, it is basic that litigant must take sensible estimates that an outsider would take to guarantee the security of the interests of the offended party which might be unfavorably affected by the choice by respondent. Notwithstanding, if fitting degree of care isn't reached out to the offended party in agreeing with the predictable hazard, at that point break of obligation is appeared to happen (Davenport Parker, 2014). Harms should be caused by the offended party and these must be because of penetrate of obligation by the litigant. So as to definitively demonstrate this, it is basic to set up that if the break of obligation would not have occurred, the harms to the offended party were avoidable. Be that as it may, any harm which isn't identified with break of obligation or couldn't have been maintained a strategic distance from in the event of obligation being clung to, at that point such cases would not be establish as carelessness (Taylor, 2015). 3. The choice by the organization to offer board position to the past examiners is a profoundly questionable advance which demonstrates towards an undermined connection between the two elements. The arrangement of not one but rather three accomplices appears to legitimize the largesse given out by the administration for the big-hearted examining administrations gave by the reviewers. The brief looks at this relationship are noticeable in HIHs case prior likewise when high charges was paid to examiners for counseling yet at the same time the glaring procedural and strategy lack was never shown. It is profoundly improbable that the reviewers never understood these issues however their freedom was undermined and activities driven without anyone else intrigue (Arens et. al., 2013). There are evident favorable circumstances of selecting the examiner as the expert to the firm. The most evident additions is as prevalent quality with lesser time and lower cost. On the rear of the counseling administrations, the plan of action and the fundamental dangers are better comprehended which helps hugely for the review reason. The reviewer could outline a superior improved methodology mulling over the key parts of the business alongside the degree of controls. Correspondingly, during counseling likewise, the arrangements could be altered remembering the duty suggestions for the customer alongside stock and level of income and so forth. Subsequently, the administrations become better and expend lower time and cost because of cooperative energies (Arens et. al., 2013). Regardless of whether the law allows the examiner to offer counseling administrations, it would be moral not to utilize a similar firm for both review and non-review administrations. This is suggested since in such circumstance, the inspector might be trapped in an irreconcilable situation which is best maintained a strategic distance from extraordinarily in the present situation where the administration gives counseling agreements to evaluators dependent on the adaptability showed by them during examining. This is certainly not a solid point of reference and should be controlled (Gay Simnett, 2012). Likewise, arrangement of past inspectors to the board is profoundly unscrupulous since it raises concerns with respect to sheets autonomy of benefit of investors and henceforth prompts higher office costs. Further, this might be unfavorable to the evaluating calling whose validity is on the decay and subsequently the calling needs to go the additional document to build up the believability for the clients or its importance would be lost (Livne, 2015). d) The HIH protection disappointment fuelled different worries concerning the degree of exposures by the corporate and furthermore issues relating to examiner autonomy. The Ramsay report concentrated on the issue of inspector autonomy and suggested the accompanying (Parker, 2002). Evaluator freedom articulation should be incorporated as a component of the yearly report. An evaluator revelation concerning the Board autonomy included as a component of the yearly report. Compelling of the examiner customer relationship to improve speculator certainty. The constitution of an evaluator freedom administrative board was called for to test the issues of inspector autonomy. Reviews boards of trustees extent of exercises and job require an exceptional increment The above advances recommended would upgrade the norms of evaluating and would guarantee that the rate of examiners trapped in bargaining circumstance would decrease enormously. This is required because of the weakening nature of review administrations which puts an inquiry on their importance (Gay Simnett, 2012). The focal point of CLERP 9 was on upgrading the general divulgences made by the organizations and consequently reinforces the corporate administration system. The exposures were to be remembered for the yearly report and included divulgences, for example, compensation and chiefs report. Additionally, it suggested that intermittent inspector revolution must be done as such as to forestall quid expert connection between the reviewer and customer (Clout, Chappelle Gandhi, 2013). Thus, it is normal that these measures would realize more noteworthy freedom of examiners through more data dispersal (Arens et. al., 2013). References Arens, A., Best, P., Shailer, G. No Child Left Behind Term Paper - 1650 Words

No Child Left Behind (Term Paper Sample) Content: The year 2002 stands out as a milestone in the long journey to improve the quality of education in US. On January of the same year, the former president Bush signed into law the No Child Left behind (NCLB) Act. The Act made into a central federal law in pre-collegiate education on 8th January 2002 by former President Bush. This was light at the end of the tunnel for the disadvantaged bright students. These students were given an opportunity to achieve their educational dreams irrespective of social background. The legislation of the NCLB Act set holistic education requirements that covered all the public schools in the USA. This increased federal governmentà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s role in education with focus on improving the educational status of the bright disadvantaged students. In general, this Act brought remarkable transformation in the education system in US. The NCLB Act is a good one but has some areas that in my view should be addressed. These areas will be discussed in subsequent paragraphs. The NCLB Act encourages improvement in academic performance of public schools. The fresh rules allowed for the recognition in the expansion in performance through the analysis of each of the public schools annual measurable objectives report. The academic progress reports have been spelt out in the law based on a laid down formula. These reports help to test the abilities of the student and demographic sub-group populace based on state tests for the academic year of 2013/2014. The great beneficiary included specific groups such as disabled students, economically incapacitated students, and the less English proficient students. This Act would ensure that students are at a par on the same proficient level or above within a 12 year work plan period (Stetcher et.al, pp 56). Academic performance is good but it is not possible for the students to be at par within 12 years. This is because students do not have the same ability to be at par at 12 years. Some stud ents are slow learners while others fast learners therefore hard to be at par.The law also granted the students the right to have qualified teachers. It is a requirement of the law according to the act for the state to provide highly qualified teachers to all the students, with each state having its own set of standards to gauge the qualified teachers. The state is therefore surcharged with the responsibility of identifying the particular standard while bearing in mind the application of the curriculum standards to all the students in the state. In addition, the Act require that the student contact information be made available to the military recruiters, universities and other state agencies for employment purposes after the studentà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s completion of high school (Ashby, pp 37). This part of the Act is good but the gauging of the teachers is what is not that good. This is because the standards to gauge teachers should be the same in every state. This is because the different gauging restricts teachers to one state which is not good. The NCLB Act plays a significant role in increasing in the level of accountability in the public schools and teachers. The Act requires the schools to pass the annual standardized tests as an assessment means of gauging the school improvements. It also indicates whether the schools are living up to the laid down standards over the fiscal year. However, failure to pass these annual tests for three consecutive years may cost the affected public school decreased funding and other punishments (General Accounting Office, pp 45). Critics argue that the punishments undermine the chances of student and school to improve (Jones, pp 125), these punishments helps raise the value and significance for education to both the school and teachers and the nation in general. This method of assessment and punishment is not good. This is because it encourages the school to be examination oriented. This is because the school does not want to fail therefore they will focus on examination and passing of examination to avoid punishment other than learning.NCLB requires that the teaching programs and methods to solely apply the academic scientifically based research in the implementation of the act in the public schools. The research should be based in the application of systematic, objective and rigorous methods to obtain reliable and valid data important in the implementation of the actà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s academic programs and activities. This helps in generating the persuasive empirical conclusions after the application of the research. The research applied should thus be quantitative and not qualitative research. Examples of forms of qualitative research include the use of: case studies, personal interviews, discourse analysis, grounded theories, ethnographies and action research as the sources for the data (Stetcher et.al, pp 56). This academic program may limit students to one area rather than having a student who can tackl e different areas of studies and research. On the other hand it is argued that the use of the standardized tests may narrow the teacherà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s course outline, who may be tempted to teach the students on the examinable topics providing a rather shallow and not an in depth understanding of the subjects to the students of the full curriculum. Standardized tests will narrow the teacher and make them teach for examination purposes and not for the student to understand and apply the concept later in life.According to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), the public schools should accommodate the disabled children. However the IDEA Act may have been violated in the NCLB Act owing to poor planning and inconsistencies in administration of the tests. The teachers are therefore required to read out aloud the test questions during administration of the test to cater for the visually impaired students. NCLB also requires that the students be taught in English and also be t ested in the English language which is less favorable for the Native language students. This is contrary to the fact that, it is estimated that in the Native language speaking and teaching schools, the school dropout rates are relatively low and that they enjoy a rather good and higher academic achievements as compared to the schools taught in English (Berkhart and Paul, pp 43). The testing in English instead of Native languages restricts learners to practicing English alone instead of both languages. The testing in both languages will make a learner more proficient in both languages. The act requires that only qualified and certified degree graduates are allowed to be employed as teachers in the public schools. The act focuses on the improvement in the studentà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s proficient skills with emphasis on language arts, reading, writing, science and mathematics as the core academic subjects vital for economic success. However this has led to the neglect in teaching and funding for the other subjects such as history and music giving more emphasis to the core academic subjects in accordance to the NCLB Act and the focus on achieving success in the AYP assessments. NCLB thus supports early literacy through the implementation of the Early Reading First Initiative. The Physical Education subject is however not affected by the NCLB Act as fitness is directly related to academic success and is a means of reversing the obesity crisis which has hit the American teens (Ashby, pp 37).ÂThe Act also requires that the 100% of all the students that are tested under the NCLB Act including the disabled, disadvantaged, and special education students, to achieve the same set standards in all the public schools especially in mathematics and reading, as provided by the Act, by the year 2014. The 100% goal is unattainable f...
